Because of our reputation for creating the highest quality learning environments in early childhood education, the Montclair Community Pre-K is recognized as a leader in teacher training and professional development for educators. Begun in 2004, the Early Learning Institute (ELI) at the Montclair Community Pre-K has provided stellar professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators across New Jersey. Participants are offered hands on, experiential learning in a small setting that helps to produce positive results. The ELI and the Montclair Community Pre-K serve as a mentor program for early childhood programs in the state of New Jersey through the Strengthening Families Initiative (SFI) in the NJ Department of Human Services. This year ELI faculty members are providing training programs in the following areas:

• Balancing Needs in Early Childhood for Administrators
• Communicating with Hard-to-Reach Families
• Physical Education Enhancers in Early Childhood
