Community Spirit

Community is an essential part of everything we do - hence our name.

Our children learn in their classroom communities. Socialization and connection to peers are important activities within the classroom. We develop community as children begin their journey of citizenship, learning to become part of the greater community in which they live.

Just as importantly, the school partners with and supports all of its families. Attending the Montclair Community Pre-K is not just an experience for your child - it is an experience for the entire family unit. There is a strong community spirit between school and home, and across homes as families become connected to each other. Our community commitment is reinforced by events organized through the Parent Association and programming through the Family Network Center.

"My daughter's classroom was her little community. But the Montclair Community Pre-K is so much more! The school sponsors a number of activities that benefit the families of the school and the community at large. There is the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the flu shot clinic, the Friday night PJ club, the Dad's group, and support services offered in conjunction with the Family Service League. There is almost always something going on: clearly this place is more than a school."
